Built by Leaders in Open-Source Banking Infrastructure
Kalydos is led by a team with deep roots in open-source financial technology, core banking architecture, payments infrastructure, and financial inclusion.
The company is not simply implementing modern banking infrastructure from the outside. Kalydos is built by leaders who helped shape the foundations behind Apache Fineract® and Mifos, two important open-source initiatives in financial services technology.

James Dailey, Founder & CEO
James Dailey is the Founder and CEO of Kalydos. He is a founder of the original Apache Fineract® project and the Mifos project, and he serves as a Project Management Committee member and Project VP of Apache Fineract® within the Apache Software Foundation.
James has spent decades working across banking infrastructure, lending systems, payments, open-source technology, and financial inclusion. His work has focused on making financial systems more adaptable, scalable, accessible, and capable of serving institutions in both developed and emerging markets.
At Kalydos, James brings direct architectural and strategic experience from the evolution of open-source banking technology into commercial-grade financial infrastructure. His leadership helps position Kalydos at the intersection of proven open-source foundations and enterprise-ready banking products.
Original Architects, Not Late Implementers
Kalydos’ leadership advantage comes from its proximity to the systems it builds upon. With James Dailey’s background as a founder of Apache Fineract® and Mifos, Kalydos brings original architectural understanding to modern banking infrastructure.
This matters because financial institutions need more than software implementation. They need teams that understand how core banking systems evolve, how open-source foundations are governed, how lending and payment systems operate at scale, and how to adapt infrastructure for real-world commercial use.
Open-Source Leadership with Commercial Execution
Kalydos regularly works with leading contributors in the Apache Fineract® ecosystem. The company supports open-source banking innovation while developing proprietary, field-tested product capabilities for commercial financial institutions.
Kalydos’ products package proven features into deployable solutions for core banking, payments orchestration, and lending infrastructure. These components are designed to reduce implementation time, lower delivery risk, and adapt to client-specific requirements.
Thought Leadership in Financial Services Infrastructure
James Dailey is a recognized thought leader in open-source banking, fintech infrastructure, financial inclusion, and payment interoperability. He regularly speaks at open-source and fintech events, including ApacheCon / Community Over Code and the Interledger Summit.
His perspective is shaped by years of work across microfinance, digital banking, payment systems, lending infrastructure, public-sector technology, and emerging-market financial services.
James’ central view is that the future of financial services belongs to institutions that can adapt quickly without losing trust. That means banking infrastructure must be open at the foundation, modular in design, cloud-enabled in operation, and flexible enough to support new financial products as markets change.
Leadership Philosophy
Kalydos’ leadership is guided by a clear belief: financial infrastructure should not be rigid, closed, or inaccessible.
Modern institutions need systems that support resilience, compliance, operational discipline, and fast innovation. Kalydos exists to help banks, credit unions, fintechs, and financial service providers build on stronger foundations – foundations that are scalable, modular, and designed for the future of financial services.
